Music Video Premiere

“South Bay-based alternative-pop artist, MEGG has returned with her explosive new single, “Hitting Nicotine” today. The new track, which marks her first release of 2022, explores the addictive feeling of being stuck in a toxic relationship. Complete with blunt, vulnerable lyrics, gritty vocals and punchy guitar, “Hitting Nicotine” is the type of song that’ll make you want to scream along at the top of your lungs. The energetic music video, which can be seen now below, serves as the song’s perfect companion.”

VOLATILE WEEKLY

Interview

Tell me about your most memorable shows, if you haven’t played live what is your vision for a live show?

OOO, I’d have to say my most memorable shows are opening for The Used and Hot Water Music at Muzink, singing the national anthem at The Dodgers Stadium and playing a sold out show opening for Tomorrow’s Bad Seeds at Saint Rocke. Those shows were sick.

ROCK AT NIGHT

By Anita Stewart | Sept 9, 2021
Listening to South Bay’s Megg makes me smile. Her pop and her exuberance for life that is reflected in her music and lyrics is infectious–I definitely think of sunshine–and she loves to tell it like it is with a real depth of her emotions noted in each story that she tells.

LOUD WOMEN

By Reva May | Sept 10, 2021
There’s an uninhibited brightness and grit in MEGG’s lyrics . MEGG blends her love of pop music and her Southern California beach punk rock roots. ‘Change’ showcases a sad pop ballad. You can feel the heartbreak and pain in the lyrics and vocals.

ALFITUDE

MEGG is one of those artists with whom you feel an immediate connection with. This is someone who creates music on her own terms, and does an outstanding job doing so.

INDIE CRIOLLO

MEGG, in a work that we can feel as a direct way to meet the American and her rocker mood and willing to break everything with what she gets in each sound sensation.

GLOBAL WORLD

MEGG’s “Disney Shit” is a brilliant display of music that was meant for the world to hear. It’s masterful in it’s ability to not only make music that’s enjoyable to hear, but fun music that makes people feel good while they here it, with an infectious charisma to her approach that makes you buy in to the star that she is.

South Bay-born and raised artist, MEGG, bridges the gap between her love for pop music and her Southern California beach punk rock roots – while combining that with her in-your-face, unapologetically goofy, and warm personality.
